Cover Songs!

Who doesn't like a good cover, am I right?

Well, we here at Loners Society HQ have a couple for ya!

First off, here is a little video of the band messing with an acoustic cover of "Round Here" by Counting Crows.  The video also mixes in a few random shots from the run of Winter acoustic dates that Matt did.

Next up, here is an acoustic recording of "I Hope that I Don't Fall In Love with You" by Tom Waits!

Songwriters' Night This Friday!

If you haven't heard yet, this is going to be an incredible event, at an incredible venue.  Friday, April 13th, some of the best songwriters in Charleston will be gathering at The Hippodrome downtown and playing some songs and telling the stories behind what inspired them.

The event is a benefit for the Lowcountry Foodbank and includes: Joshua Gale, Tyler Boone, Dallas Corbett & Dan Rainey, Justin Osborne, Luke Pilgrim, and of course, Loners Society!

It is going to be an awesome event, for an awesome cause! Check out more details here

New 2012 Winter Acoustic Dates

In some very exciting news from Loners Society HQ, Brian McMickle (who played drums on the record and tours live with the band), is having a little, rock n roll spawn this February. Needless to say, when the due date approaches, the last place you want to be is on the road. So Brian will be out of commission in the months of January - March.

With that being said, rather than sit at home (there is no way I can stay in one place for too long even if I tried), I wanted to take this opportunity to head out and do some traveling to some places we haven't played much (if ever) and play the songs as they were written (stripped down and just me on an acoustic guitar).

Not many people know or remember me when I was kicking around Athens, Georgia in the early 2000's (thankfully), but I used to be the only band member in the lineup. So while it is really exciting to be going back to basics like this, it is also nerve-wracking as hell! There is not a whole lot to hide behind when it is just you on stage with an acoustic guitar, so it sure would be nice to see some of you out there and help make whatever place I'm in feel a little like home!

Here are the initial dates that are lined up:

01.13.12 - Metropolitan Lounge (Bluffton, SC)
01.20.12 - Fresh Brewed (Myrtle Beach, SC)
03.09.12 - The Brick (Charleston, SC)
03.16.12 - Cooldaddy's (Myrtle Beach, SC)
03.17.12 - Juggling Gypsy (Wilminton, NC)
03.30.12 - Home Team BBQ (Sullivans Island, SC)

Keep in mind that we will be updating with more dates as the weeks go by. We'll have more news coming soon about new Loners Society recordings as well!

Hope to see ya out on the road soon!
